Immigration Costs and Services

We offer a broad range of immigration services at Skylark Hill Solicitors LLP that are charged at a fixed fee starting from £500 plus VAT at 20%.  

Our fees will include the following work: 
  • Discussing your matter and advising you;
  • Taking detailed instructions from you;
  • Advising you about the relevant documents to be submitted in support of your application;
  • Perusing the supporting documents;
  • Updating you of any deadlines you will need to meet;
  • Completing the relevant immigration application; 
  • Preparing a cover letter to be submitted with an application;
  • Submitting the completed in-country application to the Home Office;
  • Updating you with any correspondence received from the Home Office;
  • Advising you of any additional documents that may be relevant as your matter progresses;
  • Writing to the Home Office for updates;
  • Advising you about the outcome of an application and the implications as soon as the Home Office makes its decision.
We will need to have an initial discussion with you before we can consider your matter or give you any advice. Following an initial consultation, we will provide a fixed fee quote. The fixed fee charged will be contained in a client care letter.  

The exact fee will be based on the complexity of your matter and any changes to the Home Office application forms and procedures in force from time to time. The fixed fee charged will be according to the individual circumstances of the matter after considering the work that needs to be carried out.  

The fixed fee will include attendances, communications, and any correspondence leading up to making the application to the Home Office up to the date of the Home Office decision.  

We do not accept instructions on a “no win, no fee” or Legal Aid basis.

For the following applications we will charge you a fixed fee starting from the sums below:
  • Naturalisation - £1,500 plus VAT at 20%
  • Visit visas - £2,500 plus VAT at 20%
  • Spouse and partners visas - £3,300 plus VAT at 20%
  • Fiancé(e)s or proposed civil partners visa - £2,500 plus VAT at 20%
  • BNO visas - £600 plus VAT at 20%
  • Applications under the Points-Based System (Tier 1) - £7,500 plus VAT at 20%
  • Student visas - £600 plus VAT at 20%
  • Dependent relative and family reunion - £3,300 plus VAT at 20%
  • Leave to remain - £2,200 plus VAT at 20%
  • Indefinite leave to remain - £3,300 plus VAT at 20%
  • Transfer of conditions - £500 plus VAT at 20%
  • Appeals and judicial reviews - £2,000 plus VAT at 20%
The above fee structure does not include disbursements. The typical disbursements will be:
Immigration timeframes and stages

Dealing with a visa application will typically include the following timeframes and stages:
  1. 1-3 months for collecting information about the application and then submitting it to the Home Office
  2. 3-6 months for dealing with any Home Office enquiries about the application   
  3. 6-18 months for obtaining a final decision on the application from the Home Office
The above timeframes and stages are estimates only and could take longer if:
  • There is extensive data gathering required in respect of your personal circumstances
  • The information in your application is not accurate or requires further consideration
  • You need to provide further evidence, for example, evidence of funds
  • Your supporting documents need to be verified
  • You need to attend an interview
  • Further information is required on your personal circumstances (for example if you have a criminal conviction)
  • UKVI is experiencing increased visa demand
  • There are enquiries from the Home Office about your application
